Vance Center Staff Expands

The Vance Center is pleased to welcome Wilmer Gonzalez as Latin America Policy Manager. In this role, Wilmer will work on programs to strengthen judicial independence and address corruption in Latin America, as well as other initiatives of the Lawyers Council for Civil and Economic Rights in the Americas.

Wilmer previously worked with the Zulia’s Human Rights Commission for Human Rights and other NGOs in Venezuela to report crimes against humanity to the International Criminal Court. He brought cases of human rights violation to the Inter-American Commission of Human Rights and the UN human rights system. In New York, Wilmer has worked with ArentFox Schiff LLP and nonprofit organizations such as Catholic Charities.

He holds an LL. B from Rafael Urdaneta University, and an International Law and Justice LL.M. from Fordham University School of Law. He participated in the Vance Center’s TotalLaw Prep diversity program.
